Barbara and Lenny Macaluso both traveled the world while working in the music industry. They discovered a love for international flavors and cuisines. After retiring in 1994, they settled in Florida where they grew beautiful and plentiful orchards and gardens. From the gardens is where Barbara was inspired to create recipes and exciting sauces and Delicae Gourmet was born!

I was super excited to be able to choose the products to review! I chose three slow cooker meals and one pasta sauce: Southwest Roadhouse Chili, Thai Curry Lentil Soup, Big Easy Jambalaya and Artichoke Pasta Sauce.

First off, I loved that each item listed natural ingredients. So many times when you pick up a frozen meal or slow cooker meal from the grocery store, it will be full of preservatives. Not so with the Delicae Gourmet Slow Cooker Dinners! They use dehydrated veggies, herbs and spices to create a beautiful medley of flavors and deliciousness! 

All three Slow Cooker Dinners and Soups were delicious, but my definite favorite was the Thai Curry Lentil Soup! I love Thai foods-- from the country's exotic curries to it's delicious use of limes cilantro, and basil-- not to mention the heat; I love everything about Thai cuisine! I put my slow cooker on low at about 11 in the morning. Layered the ingredients the way the instructions said. The instructions were clear and concise. It listed what you could add to the soup to make it extra yummy, but you could also just leave it be with the regular basic ingredients and still have a wonderful meal! I decided to add chicken breasts to our Thai Curry Lentil Soup. I also had some cilantro and limes on hand, so I decided to add those at the end for extra flavor and dimension. The soup was done at about 5pm and it looked and smelled delicious! I put it in a shallow soup bowl and garnished with lime wedges and chopped cilantro. The family loved it-- even the 2 year old ate it! The lentils were nicely cooked and all the veggies were tender and yummy. The flavors were definitely something I would have tasted at any Thai restaurant. The Thai Curry Lentil Soup sells for $6.15-- a great price for a lovely meal! 

All of the meals were delicious and I would definitely recommend the fresh flavored Artichoke Pasta Sauce.  It was great topped over my favorite pasta. It had a rich artichoke flavor and even had some gorgeous capers in the mix! Priced at $8.50, it is a bit expensive for everyday family dinners, but for special occasions, it's well worth the price.
