I try to purchase handmade products whenever I can. I like the thought of supporting my friends, family and neighbors through supporting their businesses. And in an economic time like this, we all need to band together and support each other as much as possible! Really though-- have you taken a look at some handmade products recently? You will be stunned at the quality and craftsmanship there is out there-- plus the customer service is beyond comparison!

I was contacted by a company called Shawna Smith Handmade Goods and was thrilled to be able to review one of Shawna's handmade Storybook Keepers. It is inspired by the beautiful castles that seem to be a recurring theme in many beloved childhood books and stories. Gorgeous and bright, it uses all of the primary colors-- perfect for girls or boys! Handmade and sewn with quality in mind-- the seams are strong-- I can see the Storybook Keeper lasting through many children hands! I would love for this piece to become a cherished thing, perhaps passed down to kids and grandkids!
