Activeion HOM Review and Giveaway!

Cleaning is a necessary evil. I personally, would rather not have to clean-- I would prefer to partake in other activities. I also would rather not expose my family to harsh cleaning chemicals on a daily basis-- ok, so maybe that is an excuse for the not wanting to clean... =)

Really though, have you taken a look at the active ingredients list on some of your daily use cleaners? Not only are they long scientific terms, but who knows what they are really doing to our bodies each and every day. I always wonder-- If these chemicals are killing germs and bacteria, what are they slowly doing to our bodies?

Activeion Cleaning Solutions is a company that gives you an alternative-- they make a sanitizer that cleans your home and will not harm your loved ones. How do I know you ask? Does water hurt your loved ones? Nope.

Activeion takes everyday tap water, gives it a charge electrically using ions, then sprays the actively charged water out-- you wipe, it cleans-- naturally and efficiently, killing 99.9% of germs and bacteria!
Forbes 10 Breakout Business Ideas of 2009Endorsed by Green Restaurant AssociationI was a bit reluctant in believing such a claim at first, but then I got to wondering why I believe the standard cleaning products that you find in stores to be efficient? Just because it has a strong odor does not necessarily mean it's cleaning any better than the other cleaners. I did some research and watched some videos on the Activeion website-- I have to say, I think the concept is amazing. To take something that is natural, lifesaving and pure-- something that humans are made up of, and then use it in a different way to clean-- absolutely amazing!

Kitchen Innovations 2010 AwardI received the Activeion HOM edition. It retails for $169 dollars and is specifically made for household use. If you needed a stronger cleaner for professional use, there are other models made for professional grade cleaning and sanitizing. I tried out my Activeion HOM on my windows, stainless fridge and glass cook top. I was amazed at the streak free shine it left on my windows-- and all by using water! The stainless fridge cleaned well, it did leave a few marks on it where I had to go over it again using the Activeion, but it eventually cleaned it beautifully. The cook top was a bit harder-- there was many a crusted on marks on the cook top, so I knew it would be a challenge. Heck-- it would be a challenge for even a chemical laden cleaner! Using the Activeion HOM on the cook top took some more elbow grease and a few repetitions to finally get it clean-- but it's now clean and sanitized using nothing but water!

The price for the Activeion is a bit steep, but when you think about the money you will be saving in the long run, it's an easy investment! Some cleaners can run for 7 dollars and up depending on the chemicals. Multiply that by the different ones you need; glass cleaner, stainless cleaner, bathroom cleaner, kitchen cleaner-- and the cost adds up!

I learned that Activeion has been sharing technical data about the product and the germ-killing claims with the EPA since 2008.

In the United States, the US EPA regulates sanitizing, disinfecting and germ-killing claims for typical cleaning applications. The standard and legal requirement for making germ-killing claims is consistent for chemicals and devices. Even though the EPA considers Activeion to be a device (not a chemical), we are held to the same standards for advertising, labeling and efficacy claims as all of the chemical pesticides.
