Back to school time is a rush. A rush to find new clothes for the kids, a rush to find school supplies, a lunch box that is "cool" enough that the kiddos will like, but durable enough to last the year through.
Many moms go the brown paper lunch bag route, but I think that option is becoming less and less with everyone becoming more aware of the environment around them.I especially like EasyLunchBoxes.com! They not only take the brown sac out of the lunch equation, but they also take the plastic baggies out too! EasyLunchBoxes.com uses a bento style box to carry the food in. Each bento has it's own compartment for each type of food. From the sandwich to the fruit; it's all separated! It has enough room for a sandwich or entree and two side dishes. The bento box, then fits nicely into a Lunch Cooler Bag. What's even nicer is that each Cooler Bag fits up to three bento boxes!! Perfect for a family road trip or picnic! I recently too the girls to the park. We packed our lunches in the bento boxes, then in the Lunch Cooler Bag. We each had our own lunch that was healthy, cool and safe from chemicals. LOVED IT! It's a definite must for any kids lunchbox!
I would recommend purchasing both the cooler bag and bento box sets- (4 are included)- for the inexpensive prices of $13.95 and $7.95.
Can I wash the containers in the dishwasher?Absolutely! Top and bottom rack safe, away from the heating element. It's best not to push them haphazardly between other dishes because, with forceful agitation of water, the edges may crack if wedged too tightly between other items.
How Do I Clean the Lunchbag?Remove odors from a lunch bag by placing inside, a plate w/a slice of bread that has been soaked in white distilled vinegar. Zip and leave overnight. Our reusable lunch bags can be wiped clean with a damp or soapy cloth, inside or out. Even put them in the washing machine (cold water/'delicates” soap/gentle cycle/air dry). They come out great!
Can the container lids become loosened?Preschoolers can open the lids on our containers easily. When used as recommended (laid flat in our cooler bags), the container lids stay put and food does not spill out.

However, some schools and/or parents require lunches to be transported in backpacks or in a different type of lunch bag. Especially in the case of a child pushing their lunch into a backpack or into a small lunch bag, the lid may be loosened. But one savvy mom reported to me that she simply slips a rubberband (a nice hair elastic would work too) around the container before putting it in her son’s backpack.
