With both of my daughters, I breastfed in the beginning, but due to different reasons we ended up formula feeding in the end. Yes, breast is best, but if you can't or choose not to, formula is a great second choice.
Formula can be a expensive, especially when you choose to use the name brands. My husband and I went that route in the beginning, but soon enough the generic brands were calling our names. In this economy you have to save where you can and a way to do just that is to use generic brands instead of name brands. You get the same ingredients but with great savings! Parent's Choice is a great generic brand we used for quite a while with my youngest daughter. I used the Parent's Choice Savings Calculator and figured out that by buying Parent's Choice brand instead of the name brand, we were saving .51 cents per serving! Multiply that by the serving number and that turns out to be a big chunk of change! What would you do with that savings? For us, paying a bill or two was extremely important!

There is also a fabulous Formula Finder to help guide you to figure out which formula would be best for baby! For my youngest daughter, the Gentle formula was easiest on her tummy. Parent’s Choice Gentle® Infant Formula is a complete choice for formula-fed babies experiencing fussiness or gas. Parent’s Choice Gentle® Infant Formula is easy-to-digest and contains partially broken down whey protein with one-fourth the amount of lactose found in standard, milk-based formulas.
