Jennifer H on June 7, 2010 at 2:48 PM said...: Ugh, my story is so long. I will try to keep it short. A few years ago (our 1st Anniversary) hubby booked us for a trip to Paris & a few stops in Italy. We arrived at the Delta counter plenty early to check in and were then told our flight had changed. We were NEVER notified. The ticket person researched and told us that they notified the online co we booked through?? Why they didn't call us directly, I have know clue. Anyway the next flight wasn't take off until the following afternoon, which means one less day in Paris & we had already paid for our hotel so we lost $$. We finally arrived in Paris and Delta lost hubby's luggage. Oh my, could this get any worse?! On our return flight Christmas eve, they canceled the flight due to tech difficulties. It was crazy. We ended up getting a hotel and our luggage showed up the next day. Not the best way to start a honeymoon. :-)

The next flight wasn't for 4 hours. London, rain, no chance for extra sight-seeing...good thing we were too excited about the impending honeymoon to care!

Hubby, myself, daughters ages almost 4 and 4 months (at the time)all flew from WA to TX to visit the in-laws. Hubby decided to buy a truck when he was there to drive home. On my way back without hubby and with our daughters I wnet through security. I had one daughter holding my hand and the other in the stroller. I had to figure out how to hold my infant while folding up the stroller and putting the stroller through the xray machine. It was very hard. No one wanted to help me because of the security laws. Then as I was walking through I beeped. My belt buckle had set off the alarm. At this point I had to take off my belt while still holding my daughter in my arms and holding the hand of my other daughter. I was almost in tears when I finally got through. UGH!

Cari on June 8, 2010 at 12:18 PM said...: The biggest travel disaster I had was when I was flying home from Wisconsin to Colorado. I arrived at the airport in plenty of time to get through security. I get to the gate and they tell me that my flight had been overbooked and there was no room for me.

After 14 hours of being on standby and no idea of when I would get home..I ending up buying my own 1 way ticket to get home...and NorthWest Airlines never reimbursed me.

I spent an hour at the courtesy desk while 6 yo son and 7 yo niece (who were bored to death) did everything they could to break my last nerve.) The luggage finally made in to the boat but it was nerve wrecking waiting to see if it would show up

We got an emergency page on the ship as we were backing away from our last port, that our baby was born and we needed to get home ASAP! We were stuck in the middle of the ocean for two-days unable to get home, get much information about what was going on, nothing! Then the airline would not change our flight so we could get home early because we used airline miles, so we had to buy one-way tickets to get home. Thankfully everything finally worked out, after the birth parents waivering on placing the baby because we couldn't get home, and we have our beautiful daughter home!

Once my husband got out of the ride he did not find me and began searching. We waisted almost 2 hours looking for each other. It was a disaster now we have a designated meeting spot after rides.

degood on June 21, 2010 at 3:51 AM said...: We recently were going to a beach house on an island in the puget sound and missed the morning ferry by like 8 minutes and then found out that the afternoon ferry was cancelled due to low tide so our only choice was the evening ferry that was 7 hours later. There was nothing to do anywhere near the ferry doc so we ended up back home and then going again later in the day.
