Mission Menus Challenge: Sponsored Post

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Mission Foods. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you heard about theMission Menus Challenge-- I didn't think so! Today is your lucky day ladies and gents!

Mission Foods (you know the great company that makes the fabulous, versatile tortillas!) is kicking off the summer time with an awesome contest! Beginning June 28, 2010, Chef Sara Moulton wants YOU to submit budget-friendly recipes to Mission at www.MissionMenusChallenge.com for a chance to compete in a cook-off in Los Angeles and win a $10,000 dream kitchen makeover as well as a ton of other prizes! The grand prize winner (that's you!!) will WIN round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two to the Mission Menus Challenge Cook-off on September 10, 2010 at the Hard Rock Café in Los Angeles. "El Lay" here you come! You have until August 9th to submit your recipe online-- so hurry!

All recipes must:
• Must include Mission Flour Tortillas
• Be original
• Feed a family of five for $10 or less

I have always loved Mission brand tortillas for their family friendly flexibility-- try to say that three times fast lol-- and that the tortillas are inexpensive and versatile. Plus the company has a soft spot for giving back to the community. Mission Foods is proud to support Share Our Strength, the leading national organization committed to ending childhood hunger in America. You can help by visiting www.MissionMenusChallenge.com to learn more.
If I had entered today, I would definitely submit my Casa Crazy Carnitas! They are made with budget friendly Mission Tortillas, a small pork roast that is slow cooked with delicious cumin and cayenne,  and whatever else I have on hand in the ole refrigerator. I pair the tacos with some chopped lettuce, some grated cheese, maybe a diced tomato and a can of beans and I have an easy, family friendly, budget conscious dinner perfect for any day of the week! You could make teeny street tacos, or perhaps delicious burritos-- totally up to you when you use Mission Tortillas!

Mission tortillas come in all sizes--small (6"), medium (8") and large (10”). Plus they have 0 grams Trans fat per serving and are cholesterol free! They are available nationwide at grocery stores everywhere!! Can't beat that!
